“Prime Minister Modi inspires me” – Saina Nehwal joins BJP

Star shuttler Saina Nehwal, along with her elder sister Chandranshu Nehwal joined BJP at the party’s HQ in Delhi, in the presence of party’s national general secretary Mr. Arun Singh.

The 29-year-old recipient of Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna and Arjuna awards explained her reasons for joining the party.

Addressing the press in Hindi, she said,

“This is a very good day. I have won many titles and contributed my best for the country in the field of sports. Today, I joined a party that does so much for the country. I am a hardworking person, and I like hardworking people. I can see that Prime Minister Narendra Modi Sir works very hard for the country. If I too can do anything for the Country, it’ll be a blessing for me. I’ll try my best.”  

Although a resident of Hyderabad, Ms. Saina Nehwal was born in Hisar, Haryana. Her entry into BJP comes days before the Delhi Legislative Assembly election, which will be held on the 8th of February.
