Telangana to provide 1.2 Cr National Flags to households

As the nation gears up for ‘Har Ghar Tiranga,’ a clarion call by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to hoist the national flag in every household from August 13-15 to celebrate the 75th year of Independence, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh governments have directed the authorities to ensure the success of the program.

Telangana Chief Minister K.Chandrashekar Rao had asked for the national flag to be displayed for two weeks in the state, one week preceding Independence Day and one week after.

CM KCR asked the authorities to commission the production of 1.2 Cr flags at handloom enterprises in Gadwal, Narayanpet, Siricilla, Pochampalli, Bhuvanagiri, and Warangal. The flags will be distributed to every household in the state. Every government office and vehicle will also fly the national flag for two weeks.

Directing the authorities to ensure the display of the Indian flag in most public places, the Chief Minister also asked the media organizations to either print or display the flag.

Speaking to the reporters, the Chief Minister said there is a need for qualitative development in the country, despite reaching several milestones in the last 75 years.

Every citizen has to safeguard the democratic and secular values of the nation, he said. The current generation needs to embrace the same patriotic fervor shown by the previous ones, he added.
