The customary ‘At Home’ program hosted by the State Governor is generally attended by the Chief Minister and leaders of the opposition, along with senior officials in the government.

However, the Chief Minister, whose office is understood to even have provided an itinerary to the Governor’s office, indicating their intention to attend the event, did not show up. Neither did any TRS Ministers nor MPs.

The relationship between the Governor and the TRS government has been bumpy for a while now.

Governor Tamilisai did not get to address the legislature during the budget session this year. The TRS leaders have accused the Governor of overreach, and the Governor reportedly submitted unflattering reports about the TRS government in Delhi.

The Telangana Governor, a medical doctor, was in the news recently for attending to a sick passenger on a flight. She is also the acting Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry.
