Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s mother, Heeraben Modi, has passed away at the age of 99. She was born on Jun 18, 1923.
She was admitted to the U.N. Mehta Institute of Cardiology and Research Centre in Ahmedabad on Wednesday, but her illness was not deemed fatal.
PM Modi, who shared the tragic news, has left for Ahmedabad.

Married to Damodardas Mulchand Modi, she had six children, the third being Narendra Modi, the Prime Minister of India.
She lived in Raysan village near Gandhinagar with PM Modi’s brother Pankaj Modi. The Prime Minister paid regular visits for birthdays, celebrating a festival, or when he traveled to Gujarat.
