BJP President lashes out at TRS for ‘Undemocratic rule’

Wishing the public a ‘Namaskaram’ (Namaste) in Telugu, Mr. Nadda praised the land for its revolutionary spirit, holiness, and art.

Jagat Prakash Nadda then lashed out at the ruling TRS party. The BJP chief wondered if there is a rule of democracy in the state. The permission for this meeting was canceled and is happening only with the intervention of the judiciary, he said.

On an earlier visit, too, he was advised to stay within the airport because of the coronavirus, he recollected.

He said the BJP’s ‘Praja Sangrama Yatra’ aimed to stop the KCR-led TRS from plunging the state into darkness. Instead, the BJP would light up the state with development, Mr. Nadda said.

CM K. Chandrashekar Rao’s prohibitory orders are comparable to the last orders of the last Nizam of Hyderabad, opined Mr. Nadda, and predicted that the people of Telangana would ensure that CM KCR too would be confined to his home.

While the Prime Minister took steps to empower the poor and the oppressed, CM KCR tried to change the names of the central schemes or halted them for political reasons, he said.

While the TRS’s promise of two-bedroom houses remains unfulfilled, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana was hindered, Mr. Nadda said.

‘Telangana Statehood achieved by collective efforts’

Telangana statehood was achieved with everyone’s involvement, and it was the BJP that drafted the Kakinada resolution first, Mr. Nadda added.

CM KCR spoke of celebrating the Telangana Liberation Day but stepped back because of Majlis, Mr. Nadda said.

KCR is afraid of BJP after the electoral losses in Dubbaka and Huzurabad, and the public will hand over the next general election to BJP for development, Mr. Nadda said.
