India records 31,222 new cases of COVID-19, and 42,942 recoveries

India recorded 31,222 new infections of the coronavirus and 42,942 recoveries over the last 24 hours. Active cases in the country are reported at 3,92,864 as per the morning update on September 7.

Kerala accounts for most COVID-19 cases, with the state’s infections currently at 2,39,338, while Maharashtra reports 51,234 active cases.

Maharashtra Chief Minister has urged caution while celebrating the upcoming festivals.

Karnataka reports 17,412 cases, and Tamil Nadu 16,256 active cases.

Over 3.22 Crore people have recovered from the virus so far, and the recovery rate is 97.48%.

A total of 53.31 Crore tests have been conducted, and currently, the weekly positivity rate is 2.56%.

The virus has claimed 4,41,042 lives in the country.
