A BJP win will be its seventh straight victory in the western state.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi was Chief Minister of Gujarat for 13 years until he became Prime Minister in 2014.

While considered a BJP stronghold, the last election witnessed BJP winning 99 seats and Congress 77.

This time around, Aam Aadmi Party is in the fray as a strong contender, given its victory in Punjab.

PM Narendra Modi is campaigning for the second phase poll, along with Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP President JP Nadda.
