The cargo of 25 tons of dried yeast in the shipment was suspected of being mixed with narcotics. Upon checking with an NCB Drug Detection Kit, the pale yellow powder tested positive for Cocaine/Methaqualone.

Officials estimate the presence of hundreds of kilograms of Cocaine in the shipment.

CBI also raided Sandhya Aqua Exports in Moolapeta, Kakinada district, and examined the products on site.

Amidst the reports of a delay in CBI’s operations owing to state officials, Vizag Police Commissioner Ravi Shankar said that the central officials may have used some technical terms in their report but that there was no actual delay in any proceedings.
