Coronavirus: Andhra Pradesh cases at 813

As of 9 AM, April 22nd, Andhra Pradesh reported 56 new coronavirus cases overnight, taking the total to 813. As per the health bulletin this morning, 5757 samples were processed in the last 24 hours.

Guntur reported two deaths taking the number of those deceased in Andhra Pradesh from COVID-19 to 24. The previous two deaths were also reported from the same district.

Kurnool and Guntur report 19 cases each

Kurnool reported 19 new coronavirus cases taking its total to 203 (194 active cases), and continues to be the district with the highest number of COVID-19 cases in Andhra Pradesh, followed by Guntur at 177 (146 active cases).

‘More testing than any other State’

Health officials claimed that Andhra Pradesh had conducted 830 tests for every million people in the state, and that is the highest rate of testing in the Country at the moment.

As per the Government data, of the 41512 samples collected, 40699 tested negative. While 120 people are classified as either discharged or cured so far, eight from Guntur, five from Ananthapur, four from Kadapa, four from Nellore, two from Krishna, and one from Visakhapatnam had been discharged since yesterday, and 669 coronavirus positive patients continue to be treated.

NORTHERN MOST PART OF ANDHRA PRADESH SHOWS ZERO CASES

Northern Andhra districts of Vizianagaram and Srikakulam have reported no positive cases of coronavirus so far.
