The newly elected Speaker of the House of Representatives, Kevin McCarthy, accused President Joe Biden of making his border visit a photo op and vowed that Republicans would hold him accountable for creating the most dangerous border crisis in American history.
He alleged that five million illegal migrant crossings had taken place in the last couple of years.
President Biden has visited El Paso, Texas, at the southern border for the first time after his election.
The new Speaker has yet to unveil a plan on how to tackle illegal crossings at the border.

It took 15 rounds of voting and conceding to a change of rules.
He had been a Congressman since 2006, party whip from 2011 to 2014, and a minority leader from Jan 2019.
