Three Indian Athletes in Finals at World Athletics Championships

Olympic Gold Medalist Neeraj Chopra topped his ‘Group A’ with a single throw of 88.39m, making his way to the final in style at the World Athletics Championships at Eugene, Oregon.

For comparison, Neeraj threw 87.58m to win Gold at Tokyo Olympics in August 2020. His best throw went 89.94m at Stockholm Diamond League early this year.

Anderson Peters of Grenada threw 89.91m in ‘Group B’ and is seen as a serious contender for the Gold medal along with Neeraj Chopra.

The Indian star athlete can be seen in action after 7 AM on July 24.

Two other athletes from India make it to the Finals

Another Javelin Thrower, Rohit Yadav, sent the Javelin flying up to 80.42m, ranking sixth in ‘Group B,’ making it to the Final alongside Neeraj Chopra.

Meanwhile, another athlete Eldhose Paul, despite ending up in the last spot (12th) in the Triple Jump final qualifying group, became the first Indian to reach the event’s Final.
