On Electoral Bonds

Addressing the criticism and controversy over electoral bonds, PM Modi emphasized the importance of transparency in political funding. He highlighted that the introduction of electoral bonds made the source of funding traceable, a stark contrast to the pre-2014 era when the sources of political funding were largely unknown. The Prime Minister also said the electoral bonds have been instrumental in curbing the influence of black money in Indian politics.

Critics of the electoral bonds scheme argued that it has increased corporate donations to the ruling party. However, PM Modi dismissed these claims, stating that the electoral bonds data should not be seen as a setback for the ruling BJP.

About the alleged misuse of central agencies

The Prime Minister also addressed concerns about the alleged misuse of central agencies for political purposes. He clarified that the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and other central agencies function independently, and their actions are evaluated by the judiciary. Modi pointed out that of all the cases the ED is currently investigating, less than 3% are related to politics.

About regional languages

During the interview, PM Modi also touched upon the importance of regional languages and the need for their promotion. He expressed regret over the politicization of the Tamil language, stating that it has been detrimental not only to Tamil Nadu but to the country as a whole.

About Dynasty Politics

PM Modi sought to clarify that he was never against multiple members from a family entering politics but was only critical when a family monopolizes an entire political party and dictates its policies.
