TDP General Secretary Nara Lokesh, son of former Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, has been granted Z category security by the Ministry of Home Affairs. The decision comes amid heightened concerns about his safety and the risks associated with his political activities.

The Z security includes 22 personnel, including 4-6 NSG commandos and police, and is provided to high-profile individuals in the country who are at risk.

Mr. Lokesh had been under the Z category security in the prior TDP government but was later downgraded to Y category protection.

The Home Ministry’s decision comes after a thorough assessment of the threat perception by the relevant agencies.

The TDP leader actively campaigned for his party by walking through several constituencies in Andhra Pradesh with his ‘Yuva Galam’ program.

Mr. Lokesh is contesting from Mangalagiri in the upcoming Legislative Assembly elections.
