Zain was born just a three-pound baby on August 13, 1996, as he suffered asphyxiation in the uterus. Born with cerebral palsy, he received treatment at Seattle Children’s Hospital.

Being interviewed by Jane Fransisco in 2017 for Good House Keeping, the Microsoft CEO credited Zain for making him more empathetic.

In May 2021, the Nadella couple pledged $15 million to Seattle Children’s Hospital to advance precision medicine neurosciences and mental health care.

Satya Nadella, hailing from Hyderabad, India, married Anupama in 1992. They both attended Manipal University, and while Mr. Nadella pursued a bachelor’s in electrical engineering, Ms. Anu was his junior pursuing a degree in Architecture.

Satya and Anu Nadella have two daughters, Divya and Tara.
