K. Chandrashekar Rao, former Chief Minister of Telangana, is awaiting hip replacement surgery at Yashoda Hospital this evening after he slipped and fell in his bathroom.

The incident occurred last night at his farmhouse in Erravalli yesterday.

After complaining of pain in the left leg, the BRS (Bharat Rashtra Samithi) President was taken to the hospital around midnight.

According to a health bulletin released by the hospital, Mr. Chandrashekar Rao had sustained an ‘intracapsular neck of femur fracture’ and would need 6-8 weeks to recover.

Speaking to the reporters, KCR’s nephew and former Health Minister Harish Rao requested that party sympathizers and well-wishers pray for the former CM but not try to visit him at the hospital.

KCR, the two-term Chief Minister of Telangana, was ousted from power recently by the Congress party.
