Campaigning in Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan’s stronghold Kadapa, TDP Chief and Former CM Chandrababu Naidu alleged that Mr. Jagan has fielded his uncle YS Vivekananda Reddy’s murderer as Kadapa MP candidate.

Former Minister and MP Vivekananda Reddy, brother of former Chief Minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy, was found dead in March 2019. After conflicting reports from local authorities, the case was handed over to the CBI.

The incumbent MP, Avinash Reddy, is CM Jagan’s cousin and was arrested by the CBI in YS Vivekananda Reddy’s murder case in June 2023 but was released on the same day on bail.

Can TDP defeat YSRCP in Kadapa?

Kadapa (YSR District), a stronghold of the late YS Rajasekhara Reddy, would be a prized asset for TDP if it can defeat YSRCP’s candidate, Mr. Avinash Reddy.

While TDP fielded Chadipiralla Bhupesh Reddy, Chief Minister YS Jagan’s sister YS Sharmila, INC’s AP President, is also contesting the seat.

The district also comprises seven legislative assembly seats.

Aside from murder allegations against the YSRCP candidate, the TDP leader also questioned why the steel factory has not materialized in the state despite laying two foundation stones.

Referring to the drug haul in Visakhapatnam and the reports of a rise in Marijuana sales in AP, Mr. Chandrababu flayed the law and order situation in the state.

He said that a TDP victory in the Rayalaseema region would mean water, drip irrigation, industries, infrastructure, jobs, and the region would be a hub for horticulture.
