Indonesia Earthquake leaves dozens dead and hundreds injured

A 5.6 magnitude earthquake has struck Java, Indonesia, leaving over 160 people dead, hundreds injured, and thousands of houses damaged.

Even residents of the capital Jakarta, which is roughly 100 km away from Cianjur, have reported feeling the tremors.

The earthquake with the epicenter at Cianjur, West Java, may be followed by aftershocks, officials have warned the residents.

Indonesia, the largest archipelago in the world, consisting of five major islands and over 17,000 islands, is located along the Pacific Ring of Fire.
