Indian Flag hoisted at the iconic Times Square in New York

New York Mayor Eric Adams hoisted the Indian flag at the iconic Times Square in Manhattan, New York. Also doing the honors was the Indian Consul General in NYC, Randhir Jaiswal, accompanied by members of the Indian community.

The Mayor said both India and the US cherish common values, including religious toleration and democracy.

Mayor Eric Adams, a Democrat who took office in November 2021, credited Mahatma Gandhi’s non-violence for bringing freedom to India and civil rights to the US.

Meanwhile, the Indian Consulate in New York City hosted a separate function like all the Indian posts and missions worldwide.
