India reports 7,992 new cases of COVID-19; Mumbai under Section 144

India, on Saturday, reported 7,992 new cases of the COVID-19 on December 11, 2021.

The country also reported 9,265 recoveries in the last 24 hours.

The active caseload stands at 93,277.

The recovery rate is placed at 98.36 percent.

131.99 Cr doses of Vaccines administered

As of December 11, 2021, 131.99 Cr doses of vaccines have been administered across the nation.

Over 76 lakh doses were administered in the last 24 hours. Over 55 lakh of these were second doses.

Mumbai under Section 144

Taking the rising number of Omicron cases into account, the Maharashtra government has placed Mumbai under section 144 for two days, today and tomorrow.

There are currently over 30 cases of the Omicron variant of the coronavirus in the country.
