India administers over 634 million doses of vaccine as of August 30

India has given 634.3 million (63.43 Cr) doses of vaccine to its eligible population as per the morning update from Health Ministry on August 30.

Over 3.1 million (31 lakh) doses of vaccine were administered in the last 24 hours. More than two-thirds of these were first-dose vaccines.

The recommended time gap between the first and second doses of the vaccine is a minimum of 84 days.

So far, Uttar Pradesh administered the highest number of doses in the country (over 70 million), followed by Maharashtra (over 57 million), and then Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat (over 45 million).

Kerala, which is reporting roughly half of the nation’s cases, has made use of over 28 million doses.

Covishield, Covaxin, and Sputnik V are the viral vector vaccines that are currently available in the country.

Although approved for emergency use, the availability of Johnson and Johnson’s Janssen and Moderna vaccines is not yet known.
