Mr. Kalyan was addressing a rally as part of his Koulu Rythu Bharosa Yatra in Sattenapalle in Palnadu, Andhra Pradesh, on Dec 18.

How important is the proposed alliance?

The alliance of TDP, JSP, and BJP emerged victorious in the 2014 assembly election.

But in 2019, contesting on their own, they suffered a massive defeat. In a 175-strong Legislative Assembly, YSRCP won 151 seats, TDP won 23, Jana Sena Party won one, and BJP won none.

The talk of an alliance ahead of the next election has been gaining momentum, and now Mr. Kalyan nearly confirmed it. However, it is unclear if BJP will be on board and how the seat distribution will be.

Mr. Kalyan said his party is distributing Rs.5 Cr to the Koulu farmers (tenant farmers) who lost their lives and said if he were to have power over the state treasury, he would do much more to help the needy.

Despite a huge mandate in their favor, the YSRCP has failed to address serious issues and is bothered with petty issues such as the color of his campaign vehicle, Pawan Kalyan said.

Pawan Kalyan asked that nutritious food be distributed in the BC Hostels and the students’ fees reimbursed instead of shows of appeasement.
