Operation ROPE

The traffic police’s new action plan ‘Operation ROPE’ is short for ‘Removal of Obstructive Parking and Encroachments.’

The police will identify the encroachments on the streets and levy fines up to Rs. 1000. Those occupying the footpaths will have to vacate or face prosecution.

The wrongly parked vehicles could get towed, and the towing charges would have to be paid by the owners. The charges are Rs. 200 for two-wheelers and Rs. 600 for four-wheelers.
