Haiti hit by a Powerful Earthquake, Multiple Fatalities feared

A powerful earthquake of magnitude 7.2 has hit Haiti, and the initial pictures and videos coming out of the Caribbean country present a grim picture. The earthquake is centered near the city of Les Cayes, 125 km west of Haitian capital Port-au-Prince, according to the USGS.

As of August 18th, a day after the earthquake, more than 1900 deaths have been confirmed.

The Earthquake in 2010 caused widespread damage and left over a 100,000 people dead in Haiti.

The United States Geological Survey has issued a "red alert" for fatalities following a 7.2 magnitude earthquake in Haiti.
