Bharat Jodo Yatra, Rahul Gandhi’s walk from Kanyakumari to Kashmir, had formally started on September 7, with the actual walk beginning on the 8th.

The former president of the congress party is scheduled to walk 3570 km in five months.

With a tagline of ‘Mile Kadam Jude Watan,’ the former president of the congress party is aiming to reach the public personally, on a large scale.

Rahul Gandhi, who entered Kerala on September 11, has completed a 100 km walk.

He will enter Karnataka on September 30.

18 days for Kerala

Rahul Gandhi’s allocation of 18 days to Kerala was questioned by the CPM, the ruling party of the state.

The party questioned why Rahul had only allocated two days to the larger Uttar Pradesh and 18 days for Kerala.

Amid speculation that the poll-bound states are given preference, Congress leaders maintained that the schedule is based on the walking route and nothing else.

Rahul Gandhi, Lok Sabha MP from Wayanad, Kerala, will enter Karnataka on September 30.

Aside from calling for unity, which is the very name of his tour, the congress MP has targeted the government with inflation and jobs.

He said 42 percent of the youth are unemployed.

Congress internal election

Rahul Gandhi’s walk commenced just days after Ghulam Nabi Azad’s scathing criticism of his leadership and weeks before the Congress party’s internal election.

Congress party will elect its new president on October 17.
