Chandrababu Naidu has represented the constituency in the Legislative Assembly since 1989.

What happened?

TDP Chief Chandrababu Naidu is on a three-day visit to Kuppam.

On the first day, a clash broke out at Ramakuppam between YSRCP and TDP cadres.

On the second day, August 25, as the TDP Chief was set to inaugurate an ‘Anna Canteen,’ YSRCP leaders, including Chittoor MP Reddappa and MLC Bharath, staged a protest at YSR’s statue nearby, blaming the rival party for the earlier disturbance.

Despite the reminders from the police that their allotted time for agitation was up, the ruling party cadre refused to budge. A section of the cadre rushed towards the ‘Anna Canteen’ and resorted to destroying it.

TDP General Secretary Nara Lokesh posted this video.

Police intervened and dispersed the crowds with Lathi Charge.

Mr. Naidu sat down near the Bus Stand, protesting the destruction of ‘Anna Canteen’ and other incidents of violence. He eventually gave up the stir, personally served food from the ‘Anna Canteen,’ and left to attend another party program.
