Chandrababu Naidu’s Arrest – Live Updates

(7PM) September 10, 2023 – Chandrababu Naidu is to be sent to Judicial Remand up to September 22, 2023. He could be moved to Rajahmundry Central Jail.

The former Chief Minister of AP will likely file a bail petition in the High Court on Monday.

(6 AM)September 10, 2023 – Chandrababu Naidu is taken to an ACB court in Vijayawada. He is represented by Advocate Siddharth Luthra.

(5 AM)September 10, 2023 – TDP Chief Chandrababu Naidu is taken back to the SIT office after medical tests.

The CID officials are now expected to take him to an ACB court in Vijayawada.

(4.30 AM)September 10, 2023 – Chandrababu Naidu is taken to the Government General Hospital in Vijayawada for a medical checkup.

Chandrababu Naidu Arrested

Former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Nara Chandrababu Naidu, was arrested in the early hours of September 9, 2023, in connection with an alleged corruption case in a skill development program. The CID charged him under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the Prevention of Corruption Act 1988.

Protests erupted almost instantaneously. The TDP supporters blocked roads and staged demonstrations in several parts of the state. The police imposed prohibitory orders in some areas to prevent further unrest.

Jana Sena Chief Pawan Kalyan, who was to attend his party activities and show solidarity for the detained Chandrababu Naidu, was denied entry into Andhra Pradesh as he tried to commute via car. Earlier in the evening, his plane was denied permission.

CBN denies allegations

Chandrababu Naidu denied the allegations and called his arrest a political vendetta. He filed a petition in the High Court of Andhra Pradesh seeking bail. The court could hear the petition on Monday, September 12.
