The High Court of Andhra Pradesh, on October 31, 2023, granted interim bail to Chandrababu Naidu, the former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, on medical grounds.

The TDP Chief had petitioned the court to allow him cataract surgery.

Mr. Naidu was arrested on September 9 after the AP CID alleged a scam in the Skill Development Project. His primary bail petitions are pending before the High Court and Supreme Court.

Meanwhile, addressing another petition, the High Court also asked the CID not to arrest him in the Liquor licenses graft case while he is getting medical attention.

Chandrababu Naidu is currently in the Rajahmudry Central Jail and could be released by the evening. He would be traveling via road to his house in Amaravati.

The TDP cadre, who hadn’t seen Mr. Naidu for over 50 days, burst firecrackers and celebrated the interim bail.
