Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation’s top officials on Civil Services Day and emphasized their role in the nation’s development.

PM Modi said the current event was special as the country celebrates 75 years of Independence and also marks Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s 150th birth anniversary.
He reminded the officials that Sardar Patel referred to them as the steel frame of India and called upon the officials to serve the nation in accordance with the spirit of the Constitution, with integrity and commitment.
Recollecting his Red Fort speech, the Prime Minister said his administration is strengthening the roots and foundation for the next thousand years. ‘Decisions being taken by us now will dictate our future for 1000 years,’ he said.
PM Modi asked the nation’s top officials to dedicate themselves to achieving the nation’s goals.
Observing that the times and technology are changing at a rapid pace, the Prime Minister pointed out that the country’s policymaking cannot be stuck with the old ways. India’s aspirational society comprising youth, farmers, and women has high hopes and dreams, PM Modi said.
Noting that every sector needs to keep up with the country’s advancement, PM Modi told the Civil Servants that they have a great responsibility ahead.
The officials would have to make India the world’s 3rd biggest economy soon, but must also focus on holistic development, he said, pointing out that no village can be left behind.
Mr. Modi said that no individual succeeds without a contribution from the rest of the society and asked the bureaucrats to make citizens, especially the poor, their priority.
