The meeting, attended by Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, focused on approving substantial investments and addressing critical agricultural and institutional issues.

The cabinet greenlit investments totaling ₹33,000 crore across 19 projects in sectors such as non-renewable energy, tourism, IT, and electronics, expecting the move to generate approximately 35,000 jobs.

A significant allocation of 615 acres of land in Muthukuru, Nellore district, was approved for the Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (APIIC) at no cost, aimed at fostering industrial growth.

Additionally, the cabinet sanctioned land for two major pumped storage hydropower projects: 500 MW in Tadimarri, Sri Sathya Sai district, allocated to Adani Power, and 1,000 MW in Kondapuram, Kadapa district, signaling a push toward sustainable energy solutions.

To bolster the state’s educational and cultural landscape, the cabinet approved the establishment of the Bar Council of India Law University in Amaravati, a landmark initiative to enhance legal education. The headquarters of Potti Sriramulu Telugu University will be relocated from Hyderabad to Andhra Pradesh, reinforcing the state’s cultural identity.

The cabinet also cleared the Andhra Pradesh Footwear Policy 4.0, designed to attract investments and create jobs in the footwear industry, further diversifying the state’s economic base.

Agriculture was a focal point, with the cabinet engaging in extensive discussions on farmers’ issues. Officials reported increased crop yields compared to the previous year but highlighted challenges posed by fluctuating crop prices due to international developments and domestic market conditions.

CM Chandrababu emphasized the need for transparent investigations into past agricultural policies, particularly addressing the liquor scam, urging stakeholders to avoid premature statements that could spark unnecessary political debates.

Another notable decision was allocating 500 acres to GMR Aerocity at Bhogapuram, aimed at developing a world-class aviation hub, which is expected to enhance connectivity and economic activity in the region. The cabinet decisions reflect a strategic vision to position Andhra Pradesh as a hub for innovation, sustainable energy, and cultural preservation, building on the momentum of the coalition government formed eight months ago.

Information and Public Relations Minister Kolusu Parthasarathy said the decisions mark a significant step toward fulfilling the government’s promises of economic growth and welfare.

The resolutions, including those from the 47th Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA) meeting, will now be forwarded to the central government for further approval, particularly the designation of Amaravati as the state capital in the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act.
